The Call Questions

-No, I am sorry...we do not know when we will get the call.
-No, we do not know what month, day, week they will call
-No, we do not know how long it will be before they call
-Yes, it can be tomorrow; yes it could be in 6 months; yes it could be in 12 months
-No, I am not sure if they will call me or the DH first
-Yes, when we get the call, I will let you know
-No matter how many times you ask me, I cannot tell you anything different
-Yes, if you keep asking me, I will move you to the bottom of the list of people to tell when we get the call

These are some of my favorite questions that we are asked everyday! Oh my this is going to get old.

  2. Yep. When I haven't seen my friends for a week, these are the questions I get too. My favorite is my supervisor pushing me for answers that I don't have.

  6. Oh my god how I don't miss those questions at all. LOL. Everyday after work people would ask me. I'm a teacher and if they saw me on the phone in the hall or outside on the phone they would often assume it was "the call." In the end our last two matches (the one that went to the end and disrupted and the one that brought us our son) came via email which was so much easier. And by that point I wasn't telling people a thing. We only knew about our son less than a week before he came, so many people had no clue until after he was born - my own grandmother included. It is also so tiring to be waiting. I would always be looking at my phone, my email, etc. It is a hard wait but such a great one in the end. :) I can't wait to hear about your journey.

  7. Heehee, you poor thing- that is going to get old super fast. I guess it's just others showing their excitement for you though.

  8. OMG. Aren't you sick of answering that stuff??!! On the other hand, lots of people just avoid asking at all because they assume that it must have fallen through because it's taking so long. One co-worker, when I mentioned waiting for the referral, said "Oh, you are still going through with that?" But mostly, all those questions irk me because I'm wondering the same stuff! Hang in there.

  9. I couldn't have said it better! I am almost a year into the wait and if another conversation starts with "Did you get the call? or How is the adoption going?" I may scream. I know they mean the best but do they think I would of neglected to tell them the news, if I had any?

So glad to see I am not alone!
