Adoption in the Movies

While doing some research the other night I ended up typing in adoption under the movie category on Amazon.

Growing up when adoption wasn't such a large part of my life, I guess I did not pay much attention to all of the movies that I watched & dealt with adoption in some way.

What about Stuart Little?! What a good (cute) example of a, would you call it transracial adoption?! Our how about Juno, dealing with more of a birthmother's point of view.

When you stop & think about it, there are a lot of movies that deal with adoption. Just to name a few more: The Blind Side, Elf, Superman, & How to Deal.

What is your favorite movie dealing with adoption?

  1. I know the show isn't completely about adoption, but I love Matilda...it's one of my favorite movies. I love it because through adoption she finally gets the life she deserves.

  2. I was going to say Matilda, too.

And also, "Ellen Foster." It was a Hallmark movie so not many have heard about it. I stupidly watched it during my tww after my IVF and bawled my eyes out practically the whole time. Really good movie, though. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133735/
